Timeline
Café Imperial was founded in 1926 by Armando Capriles and Fernando M. Chumaceiro in Maracaibo. In 1927, the brand "La Imperial" was registered, and by 1928, the company expanded, introduced the iconic red and yellow branding, and opened a retail store, Cafetería Imperial, in Maracaibo.
In 1935, the company saw significant growth as Don Fernando acquired the cafeteria and expanded the business beyond state borders. In 1948, Café Imperial became a corporation with multiple shareholders and modernized its operations. They adopted the motto "Cup attested Quality" and introduced innovations such as the vacuum canning system and producing instant coffee in 1961.
Over the years, the company continued to evolve, including the acquisition of Rio Chiquito Farm in 1988 and the taking over of the 4th generation in 2003. In 2023, Café Imperial made a significant move by entering the US market, marking its international expansion.
